Lisbeth Frolunde (Frølunde) is an external lecturer at DPU. She is a post.doc. at Roskilde University as of 1.12.09, see worlds.ruc.dk. She is also affiliated with Växjö Universitet, Sverige. Lisbeth completed the PhD project Animated Symbols (2009) concerning social semiotics and animation filmmaking. The focus was on how young people design films in relationship to media literacy (term applied: multimodal design competence). The case study took place at an upper secondary school, where students were taught to make animation films. The project was part of DREAM (Danish Research Centre on Education and Advanced Media Materials).
In 2002-2004, Lisbeth worked as a research assistant in the consortium Play and Learning. Lisbeth's background includes teaching at the IT University, being concept developer of digital toys at LEGO, designer of books and computer games for educational publishers, art teacher for the Danish Red Cross Asylum Department, and clinical art therapist at psychiatric hospitals in the USA. She was educated in visual art and education at Antioch College (Bachelor of Fine Arts) and in Expressive Arts Therapy at Lesley University (Master of Arts).
