The Department of Philosophy of Education deals with the role of philosophy in human upbringing and education in a broad sense.

Work at the department is conducted within traditional areas like the history of philosophy and the history of ideas, ethics and political philosophy, philosophy of religion, aesthetics and the philosophy of knowledge, as well as newer areas such as philosophical anthropology, phenomenology and bioethics.
